Has anyone gone up on their cake prices in the last few months?

I had to go up twice in 6 months. I have to make some serious changes?

I am thinking about it, especially if I get my bussiness legal, I have to pay all the extra things that I am not paying know. I also I am going to charge for delivery but I am not sure how much I was thinking about a dollar a mile, do you think would be fine?

I did a pretty big hike in September, so I'm putting off the next one (smaller) until this coming September (beginning of bridal fair season). In '06 though I did raise them 3 times I think... I just was fed up with nto getting paid enough but too scared to take bigger steps... I kept resenting the prices after the hikes - so I made the last one a doozy icon_smile.gif I feel much better now!

I do my annual pricing review/increase in Sept, but I'm thinking I may have to do it early because of the gas prices. Not just because of my delivery costs, but the price of gas is affecting my produce, my strawberries, my eggs .... everything thats delivered in a truck!

I try to do it only once a year ... mostly because I'm too lazy to have to change my website and my email/handouts every 3 months or so! icon_lol.gif

I tend to change my prices every January, but here recently I've started upping them a little more. Not only are costs crazy, I've got so many customers calling that I'm having to turn them all away. I'm only one person and can do so much. So, if I raise prices maybe I can do a little less work for the same $$. Of course that thought didn't work the last time I did a price increase.

So what happened last time? Same work, more money? More work, more money? Good! That means you can raise them even MORE! icon_smile.gif

More work, more money! Good and bad. I've got so much work that I'm turning away customers left and right. I hate to lose customers, but it's all I can do to fill what orders I can take. I have a full time night job as well, so I have no free time at all, oh, except every other sunday. By then I'm so exhausted that I completely waste the day in front of the TV.
