Help Needed With Guitar Cake

I am making a guitar cake with the wilton pan for a grooms cake.
I need to know if you should torte the cake or not...you all that have done the guitar cakes....did you torte?
Please let me know....I have to bake tomorrow.

I would freeze it to make it easier and then torte it. I torte everything..even cupcakes! I love icing! icon_biggrin.gif

I would torte it........all depends though.......I made a guitar and I didn't torte it because it was covered in fondant and I thought that would make it sweet enough..but if you're just icing in BC I would probably torte it...everyone loves frosting right??? LOL I don't really know how thick the pan is though...I just cut my guitar from a template I drew freehand. Mine only ended up being 2 inches thick because I wanted it to be realistic. I vote for torting though if there's no fondant

I've done a few guitar cakes. Didn't torte the first, did torte the others - got more compliments on the taste from the torted ones. Even if you are just putting icing in between the layers, it will add flavor and height. My vote is for a choc. ganash filling, very yummy. Good luck on the guitar cake.
