There are tons of colors of luster dust & pearl dust to order. You mold the chocolates, (white choc.) let the shells come to room temperature, then just dip your brush into the dust & brush on. Put wax paper under the shells as you work & you can re-use the dust!
I order all my stuff from www.beryls.com. they are great to work with and if you have a business license they will sell to you wholesale.
Just curious, are you making seashells from fondant or chocolate mixture?
I like to use white modeling choc but I'm sure you could do it with fondant, just watch for seams. paint the mold with white chocolate lightly then press my white modeling choc into it then I just toss it in the freezer while I'm working on the next tray of molds. I also dye the melted white chock to act as a base color so I dont have to use as much colored dusts.
I like to use petal dusts as a base then go over them with a Luster dust.
My fav is Antique silk, it will make them look like the blown glass holiday orniments.
