Being so popular, I never made it before. I have my first paid order and I need to make some to fill the cake. I have a Williams & Sonoma book with the recipe but I never made it. I'll take suggestions. What's the best/no fail recipe for this? Just vanilla buttercream. Thanks in advance

Were you looking for an american style buttercream or a meringue buttercream ( French, Swiss or Italian)?

Wow you got me there. I really don't mind I just want something that will work as a filling (they are not too picky about it) What's the difference? Thanks!!!!

Okies, the american buttercreams are a lot easier to make, so prolly want to start with that, although the Duff BC is pretty easy too=) But here is a link to a recipe that a lot of CC members love. I have tried it too, and it was yummy! HTH some, Jen

But, if you are only using it for a filling and not to ice the cake, I love this mousse recipe. It lists it with cheesecake pudding mix, but you can use any instant pudding mix you want for the flavor...

I like this one, it doesn't leave that greasy feeling in your mouth.
