What couplers do you guys use on your soft bags (I have several different brands of bags, but all plastic couplers) I cannot get those suckers off! (I have to use plyers!) There has to be a better coupler out there!

I know! I can't get those darn things off! They must be designed just for plastic bags?

I turn the bag inside out and remove the coupler that way.....well after I've got all of the icing out of the bag.

This works for me.

HTH!

Yes, that is exactly my problem! I have to get out a pair of plyers to get the nut off!! Its like the soft bags are too thick. I don't have this problem with plastic bags...

Get one of those gripper things that's supposed to help you open jars, etc. I use one of those too.

Yep, I carry one of those in my toolbox. Always comes in handy when a student has a stuck coupler. I've seen it happen with all of the bags, so I don't think I would say it is just a featherweight problem. Sometimes there is icing in there that helps to cause the problem. Other times we just screw them on too tight to begin with.

I have cut my bags so that the threads are exposed on the coupler. I have never had a problem getting the nut off or any of the tip. Maybe try taking a bit more off the end of the bag.

AshleyLogan - Good idea. I have a lot of trouble threading the nut so that the tip is not wobbly, then when I do, the stupid thing is so tight it is next to impossible to unscrew.

I was thinking of trying the Ateco coupler, but I'm not sure the manufacturer is actually different...any thoughts anyone??
