I was asked to make a Black and White cake for a group function for about 150 people, the customer asked for a sheet cake with the colors Black and White, she wants it in Art Deco?? Anyone know what that is? I need and idea how to make this cake, she wants it in a sheet cake with maybe another layer on top. Any Ideas??

You could do a silhouette of like a staircase design going along one edge (white frosting w/ black design). Then you could do another silhouette of like a tall building w/ white windows and a shapely roof and pointy top. Inbetween these two, have a black silhouette of a flapper w/cigarette in cig. holder (20's) and a man in tux w/ tails and a white monocle?
Here is a site for art deco prints for inspiration.

I always warn people that black frosting can turn your tongue and teeth a weird color after they eat it. I don't have any ideas for you but I thought I would throw that little tip in.

That's a good point, cupcakegirl. You could make the Black silhouettes from Fondant. icon_smile.gif
