OK my daughter is turning 4 June 25 there will be a party for 50 so i'm doing half a sheet cake.
Theme: Barbie Fairytopia
Decorations flowers etc...

Do you have any ideas?

If i make and color butter cream now how long do you think it will keep.

Im trying to make it easier on myself and do a little pre planning...... I don't want the butter cream to go bad and space is sort of limited...

Please help...

thanks
Carley

I don't like to do my BC too much in advance. It never seems to work for me. Then again, I thikn I'm icing challenged.
I'd bake the cake and freeze it. You could make any decorations from royal/gumpaste/fondant and let those dry, then just ice it up and put on your stuff.
My daughter just turned 4 at the end of May!

My daughter loves Farytopia too - I would suggest bright colors - like fuschia and purple - and you could use the edible glitter (it's like fat flakes of glitter). Anything to make it girly and sparkly.

You can make and keep buttercream up to two weeks in advance if it's kept in an airtight container in the fridge. Making and coloring it ahead of time should make things much easier for you!!

If you refrigerate the BC it should be fine until then...just take it out and bring to room temp. and rebeat again if you think it needs it. I would bake the cake and freeze it too.......why not do as much ahead of time as you can???
