You could be as creative as you want with this one. Is there a theme to the cake bake or is it like a basic bake sale? If it were me..... I would make a couple different style cakes to show your range.
I did some donation cakes for a kids carnival and did the baseball hat, green and pink flower cake, Piglet, and black and white polk a dot cake in my photos.
You could do a summer theme, or Fourth of July is coming up. Good luck!

I bet kids would love a character cake...Hello Kitty, Pooh, Mickey Mouse, etc. Or for something really simply, just decorate with colorful candy, lolly pops, gumdrops, etc and some clowns.

Something they can't get from the supermarket bakery. Good luck!

You could decorate based on the charity; for example, breast cancer, you could do a pink cake with the pink ribbon. Hope this helps with ideas. If you click on galleries and search, I think there may be a few cakes there that would help.

thanks everyone, i forgot to say they'll be eaten on the day - more like a coffee morning - so cupcakes, or slices of cake. I usually make bigger cakes (weddings birthdays), so am stuck for ideas. Also like i said, I've taken 3 (was 2) orders for next week and i work part time too, so time will be tight.

I need easy and stunning (not asking too much LOL), or has anyone any ideas for cakes that will freeze well, then at least I could do a bit in advance.

ps can you freeze cookies?

I have frozen a decorated cake before. It was made from boxed cake mix. I think I had it frozen for a couple of weeks. It was fine. I've read where others have also said they freeze cakes. They put the cake in the box and double wrap the box in saran wrap to prevent any scent from other foods. I have also read where some have frozen baked undecorated cookies. Just thaw and decorate.
