Never done it before but want to accent a piece on a guitar that needs to be a shiny amber, have never done this before. Any tips or recipies that work? Thanx a bunch

You could make the piece from fondant or candy melts and dust with amber colored dusting powder...maybe one of the metallics. Or if glossy is good, you could color the fondant or candy melts and brush them with piping gel.

to make an amber piece, you will need to either make hard caramel (boil sugar and a little water till golden brown/hard crack stage), and then carefully pour and spread on foil to the shape you want, and then allow to cool completely before peeling off the foil) or you could try melting crushed lifesavers butter-rum candies on foil in a 350F oven till melted (about 5 minutes), spread quickly to desired shape and let cool completely, and peel off foil. either method should give you the glassy-translucent amber piece you're trying to acheive. i would suggest making a few instead of just one, in case of breakage.
