i made a 1/2 sheet cake for a baby shower and i put the frosting on the cake i put in fridge and i ready to take out the frosting right in middle crack you could see the bread its self and dont understand why that happend it never happend to me before, i thought it might be the cake borde it was on it was really thin maybe the cake was to heavy for borde i was using
it was probably due to the cake being too heavy.. for me no matter how heavy the cake is, I automatically double up on my boards for the support
It was probably the board. I never use cardboard for heavy cakes.
I've doubled my boards up before and still my icing will get little cracks in it.. I can't use my wooden board on all the cakes I do cause I'd never get it back .. getting it back is a pain too!! They're always going to bring it to you .. you call again and then never get it back until you go get it .. argh!! I hate it .. so I just do the double cardboard and pray the icing doesn't crack ![]()
