I would like to start a home-based business selling cakes, but I am unsure of any health regulations in my area. I live in Montreal, Quebec. Do any of you know where I can find out more about this? Is ok to make and sell cakes from my home in Quebec?

Thanks for your advice!
Jess

Hi, I'm from Quebec also. Check with your City regulations. Here, in Chibougamau, I only needed a city permit and to be registred with Revenu Quebec.

here's an helpful website. the link is for the French site, but you can click on English if you prefer.

And yes it's ok to operate from your home in Quebec!!

you can also ask the question on www.cakescanada.com ... there are a few members from Quebec there too!

You can also check with your local CLSC. They can lead you in the right direction.
