Does anyone know how to do the monograms on a cake using white chocolate? Also can I color the white chocolate to another color? thanks sunflowerfreak
you CAN color white chocolate, but you need to use powdered food colorings made specifically for candy/chocolate........I would just get the monogram on a sheet of paper the size and font you want....lay some wax paper over top and pipe on the white chocolate....allow it to dry and maybe go back several times building it up layer by layer to make it more sturdy...if you're planning on using it standing up on the top of the cake you may want to embed some lollipop sticks in the bottom of the letter while the chocolate is still wet...making like a big monogram chocolate pop that way it will be nice and sturdy to stand up on the cake. Also chocolate is great for brushing on some dry luster dust....can make it very beautiful with the sheen.
Thanks. That's a great idea putting the monogram on the top of the cake. I was just thinking of placing them on the front of the cake. The cake is going to be octagon shaped and the monogram will go on the front of the cake. But maybe I will work with it and try the top also.
