Could you use rum in place of vodka for luster dust?

I am doing wedding cookies and want to accent the rose with gold luster...could I use rum?

My understanding is that Rum has sugar, and that could slow down the drying time and possibly make your gumpaste piece sticky. I would use Everclear or Vodka.

Rum is made with sugar, it also has more of a taste than vodka so I would assume would leave an aftertaste. Could be wrong on this of course.

I had a little bottle of vodka somewhere and I have no clue where I put it.

I do, however, have a big bottle of rum icon_lol.gifparty.gif
for my mixed drinks of course icon_wink.gif
