How do you bake your cakes?

Do you use convection bake?

Do you bake 2 cakes at the same time or one at a time?

If 2 at a time, do you put them on the same rack or each on a different rack?

Do you always use a flower nail???

Thanks fellow CC'ers

I bake all my sponge cakes in the same tin and torte them, unless it's 12", when I bake it in 2 halves. I only bake one cake at a time in the oven.

I bake my cakes at 150'c in a fan assisted oven (I'm in the UK)

How do you bake your cakes? I've done round, square and sheet, 325F with bake strips

Do you use convection bake? I just got a convection oven and haven't enough experience to speak to this

Do you bake 2 cakes at the same time or one at a time? If I'm doing 2 layers, like 8-9 inch rounds, yes. Larger no, but I understand that you can if you're using convection.

If 2 at a time, do you put them on the same rack or each on a different rack? same rack if they're small enough to fit side by side with a space in between, I would only try different racks if using convection

Do you always use a flower nail??? I have done 9 x 13 without, larger with

Convection @300 degrees. I bake as many as I need and can fit into the oven at a time. 1 flower nail in any cake 3 inches tall. 2 nails in cakes over 10 inches.

My cake always bake up nice and flat

i use a flower nail in every choc cake regardless of size, cause i always have trouble getting my choc cakes to bake all the way through. with other flavors, i use it on 10 inch or larger cakes.

i've heard the convection ovens weren't good for baking cakes. do they work better than a regular oven?
