A close family friend asked me to make a Groom's cake for her son's wedding this coming weekend. I asked her what she/he wanted, she said that he loves golf, plays the guitar in our church, and he works with his dad building houses, so she wants all of that worked in together icon_eek.gif

My husband came up with the idea of making the whole cake a golf course, with a clubhouse being built on it, and a guitar leaning up against a lawn chair. Well, I thought it was a good idea at first, but now that it is getting close, I am beginning to wonder if I can do it! I ran this idea by the mom and she said 'whatever you do, I sure it will be wonderful'... But I don't even know where to begin!! I am scared it'll be too much! And I want it to be nice for his wedding. What do I do???? And how do I do it??

Any help will be SO appreciated!!! I am really starting to stress!! icon_cry.gif

I normally go a bit over board myself with ideas. I think the golf course is ok alone, for the rest I would maybe try and make a little golf cart with a guitar in back. That might be harder, I am sorry. you could make it look like one of those putting mats they have for golf enthusiast. At the moment that is all I can think of.

Why don't you make it like a putt putt course( mini golf...) each hole can be a different theme of the things he loves... thumbs_up.gif

Ok, I'm a bit exhausted at the moment with my 3rd grader doing her reading homework in my ear as I type. I hope this makes sense.....

How about some chocolate tools (from the candy molds) with a saying that says "Take time to work"

a guitar, (either BCT or image transfer) that says next to it "take time to Pray"

a set of golf chocolate golf clubs (Or MMF) with a saying like "Take time to play"

and a laminated picture of his bride (or the couple) that says "Take time to love"

Maybe the cake could be a square in the shape of a clock and these 4 things could be on the sides.

Good luck! Time for me to go to bed, been a long day! ~~Tammy

What a great idea I didn't even think about it. Too bad my fathers don't like either or I would use it.
