Hello All,

I am new to CC and love it. Ya'll seem to know what you are talking about. I dabble here and there with cake baking, but it has been awhile. I am throwing a luau theme surprise bday for my husbands 30th.

I was googling pics of cakes and I found the cake I HAVE to make. I have attached a couple pics below with the type of idea i am going for. It would be so cute for the luau. Thing is, I have NO idea what type of pans to use, and just the general structure on how to make the cake. Can someone give me some tips? Ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

hello and welcome to cc,
if you type "pig cake" into the little search bar at the top right corner of the web page, you will get several forums that will help you out. i clicked on the links and found several different luau cakes. you might have to search a little. i think even one of the has directions to do that.
i hope this helps.

Here's one that I did recently...

I think I carved it from 2 1/2 sheets, 2 6" rounds, 1 9" round, and 1 5" round. Good luck!

You said you were a dabbler ( me, too)...
THIS cake is much easier to do:

It's made as a cut-up cake just like the dragon and dinosaur cakes...
