Does anyone know where I can get a storage bin for the Americolor or Wilton Gels? I just happened to glance at the add for Americolor here on CC and saw the neat little box thing on it's side with compartments. They don't have anything big enough at Michael's or JoAnn's, does anyone know where I can get something similar?

this is going to sound weird, but you can try going to hospitals, or pharmacies to see if they have those cardboard boxes that are divided into more little boxes inside. they normally held medicine bottles or vials, stuff like that. Hope that helped icon_confused.gif

If you buy the Americolor in a set they come in that box. You could try going to a cake supply store and see if they have any boxes for you. I'm sure they all come in those and the stores just toss them out.

My husband made mine. Got a plastic box and some stuff from his work (you could use wood or MDF or ?)cut to size. Drilled proper size holes for the little tubs and little pegs on both sides (think little tables)
Then you can pick your size and organize as you want.

I have one of those 3 drawer plastic containers. DH took a piece of styrofoam to fit in the drawers and cut circles in it to hold each of the color containers. Cheap, and works perfectly!

Styrofoam...now there's an idea with merit! If I didn't have DH to do the man stuff for me, I definitely would have gone with that! He has to have something to do now, doesn't he? For future reference, does it ever break? What thickness is it?

My DH works in a pharmacy, I will ask him, he is at his grandmother's funeral up north till Friday, but in the meantime, all the ideas I can get are welcome!

i have found a few cute small boxes in target. where the dollar section is at. of course i bought mine about a year ago or so, so you won't find it now. BUT i have also bought a few fishing boxes at kmart. They have all sorts of different ones, ones you can divide yourself. ones already divided, but are smaller so i use them for dusts.
I usually buy my americolors at a local store and they come in a box like the one in the ad. but it's in pieces so i have been using a small tin that had gummy bears in it.
fishing boxes are small - something like this:

you can carry around if needed to.

The styrofoam is about 1/2" thick.
