I just bought some high ratio (sweetex ) shortening and I usually use the Buttercream Dream recipe. Has anyone figured out how to alter it so it will work well with the high ratio ?
Thanks!

I don't change anything, I use the high-ratio in the same amounts as regular in frosting recipes. It always makes great frosting, not greasy and super light!

I also do not change anything in the recipe. You can swap regular shortening for high-ratio 1:1 in any icing recipe.

According to CakemanOH, you don't need to use as much of the high ratio shortening compared to the Crisco. For his recipe he used about 2 pounds of powdered sugar for every 1 cup of high ratio shortening.

Cakeman's recipe calls for 6 x sugar even though Cakeman says you don't have to use it, if I remember correctly. I tried the recipe, but I didn't have good results. I have used a generic hi ratio shortening and had good results when I replaced the hi ratio with Crisco cup for cup. I just received my ordered of Sweetex and Alpine today, but I plan on using it cup for cup also.
