I'm making a pooh cake for a 2 year old and the bottom layer will be a 16" square, next layer will be a 14"petal, next layer a 10" petal with Pooh's tree house on the top layer. Pooh will be sitting in front of the door with his fire going, Owl will be in the tree and C. Robin will be swinging from a swing tied to Pooh's tree house. I was thinking of creating little scenes of the other character's together such as Rabbit and his garden with a scarecrow. some vegetables and a rustic fence, Pooh and Piglet flying a kite on a picnic, Eyeore with his head hanging down with a balloon tied to his tail and of course Tigger bouncing. These would be placed around the cake on various layers. My question...should there only be one Pooh at the top of the cake or what do you think of multiple Pooh's with the other characters such as Pooh and Piglet and Pooh and Tigger. I also wanted to make a gumpaste model of the little birthday girl and her brother (they LOVE Pooh) sitting around the fire with Pooh. What do you think of that? Or should I keep it strickly to the Pooh characters? Let me know your thoughts. I'm starting early, the party isn't until the beginning of August but it might take me that long to make the figures! Thanks so much for your thoughts and ideas.
That sounds amazing!! Can't believe I have to wait until August to see a picture! I like the idea of there being only one pooh, and the figures of the kids sitting around the fire with pooh. I bet the children would love that! Can't wait to see it...sounds like fun!!
