i've been planning this cake for awhile now but just realized that about 40 people are expected at my shower... i'm making a 10" and 6" round cake... like a present thing but round... will that be enough?
According to Earlene's chart, a 10" will serve 30 and a 6" will serve 8. If you torte and fill them, they will serve a little more. What do you think?

well, i made the cakes... i think it will be enough because we have so much other food that i don't think many people are even going to want cake... but we'll be sure to cut the slices thin... i posted a pic of it so everyone can see... i think it turned out ok... my attempt at the bow did not work so i made my roses which i'm pretty good at... i'll just stick to what i know till i learn more!!!
thanks everyone for the help!
well, the shower's over... everyone loved it! i had no complaints whatsoever... i used strawberry cake mix w/ powdered sugar glaze & buttercream inside and then mmf ontop... it was definetely a hit and to make things better, along with gifts & money we had everyone bring a recipe with an ingredient from it... i got a few cake mixes and some marshmallows so that helps for the wedding cake
and we got enough money to buy ourselves a dishwasher, whoo hoo!!!!
yeah, we also did a game called "name that cake"... i think i'm gonna post it in the forum to play... that was a lot of fun though... i also forgot to mention that my fiance's letting me get a kitchen aid ![]()
