Hi! All I am in need of a great tasting chocolate frosting. I have never tried making a chocolate frosting always only used Rich's chocolate bettercreme which of course is yummy but too soft for most decorating. Thank you in advance to all you wonderful CC friends who will take the time to share their favorite receipe with me.
One of my favorites is the chocolate syrup frosting

another great one is by Toba Garrett

They both taste amazing but the syrup one crusts and I have found Toba's does not.
Enjoy!

I actually made the White as Snow Buttercream, but chocolate version. I was also looking for a good chocolate crusting icing and love the snow one, so I added unsweetened chocolate to it and it was a hit!
I do not like chocolate icing anything, but my husband is a chocolate fiend. He LOVED it.
You can see how it came out in my pics.
I make regular buttercream but instead of water I use milk and I use cocoa powder until I get the shade of brown I want. I have gotten lots of positive feedback on this chocolate buttercream. It comes out creamy and delicious........
And very easy to make.
My 12 year old made this cake for her uncle with Chocolate Buttercream.

I use the toba garrett one posted and EVERYONE loves it.
I add super brown to get a dark color. Check photos for dots cake and brown with pink bow.
Super yummy.
