Okay, so my it was one of my best friends wedding on Saturday. I catered the wedding for her and made her wedding cake only for the cost of the ingredients and I was very happy to do it for her. So her cake was based off of a wilton design and for her cake we had one 14 inch cake, 1 10 inch cake and one 6 inch cake staced and then 5 satellite cakes surrounding the cake with 150 truffles on top of all of the cakes and surrounding the edges. Not to mention I was making 150 Lava Cakes, 150 Crepes, 150 Mini Cheesecakes, 150 Napoleon's and 150 brownies dipped in ganache. Anyways, I had it all very organized and then Saturday (the day of the wedding it all fell apart). I hadn't slept at all the night before and I had everything baking and was a complete stress case so my husband calls his brother. My brother in-law (who is taking the pictures for my friends wedding) came over with his wife, her mother visiting from Mexico and her two daughters, to help me get everything organized. My brother in-law's wife is nine months pregnant mind you. So we are organizing everything and it's 5:30 p.m. (The receptions starts at 5:30!!!) So I send my husband down with everyone to get everything set up and they get there but I am still working on the 5 satellite cakes, the rest of the cake is there. They get there and I finally arrive at 6:30 and I was so worried that I ruined my friends special day but she couldn't have been more grateful. Then my sister in law goes in to labor and is in the hospital so my brother in law has to stop taking pictures and go down to the hospital to be with his wife. It took him forever to leave because he didn't want to leave them without any pictures of the reception. All I have to say is what a crazy day! I will post pictures when my brother in law gets time to e-mail them to me. Thanks for listening!!

Bless you and your Labor of Love.
Too bad you guys didn't have a video camera following you for the whole day, it could have been like tht new show "Wedding Crashers".. which I watch, by the way, in hopes I'll get a glimpse of thier cakes....icon_smile.gif

haha, thanks you guys. It really was one crazy day. Not to mention, the seven cakes I made (the 14 inch was a dummy cake) I only put 1 Cup of butter in it instead of 2 in each cake and I was terrified that they would be gross, I honestly started crying and my husband just said to try it before I started freaking out, so I did and it was delicious! Better than the cake I make regularly icon_smile.gif So at least that was something that went right.

oh sister!!! a huge hug for you, a kiss on the cheek, and off you go to hawaii. we went a few years back to oahu, and i absolutely loved it. the #1 thing that i recommend to everyone going to hawaii is to rent a convertible. it's worth the little bit of extra expense cause you can explore and come and go as you wish...you're on an island, what are you gonna do? get lost????

enjoy, drink a little coconut drink for all of us who are sweating out the details on the mainland, and congratulate yourself on doing a wonderful job, and for being a wonderfully loyal friend!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow....and we all thought we had problems when a cake collapsed, or just didnt turn out right. How can we compete with sister in law in labor during wedding! haha Curl up under a palm tree with a drink, and laugh it all off!!! Be glad this mess is truly a once in a lifetime kinda thing!
