Hey all! I was wondering if this is the cheapest for this type of cake stand? The clear (fillable) hollow stand?
And to anyone who has one--are they as cool as they seem? I was going to use it to help me make a teeball cake for my sons end-of-season party...ya know, like a cake shaped like the plate and then this coming out of the cake filled with like M & Ms or reeses pieces or something with a ball on top... does this make sense? Anyway, here is the website...

These stands are SO versatile!!
Here's a place on the internet that sells them. I phonied up an order and the shipping was only $9 to Indpls, just to give you an idea. I think you'd do better here than eBay (and I'm a big eBay advocate). http://www.weddingfads.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=42
In my photos is an M&M cake using these stands.....I've filled the stand with M&M's, like you mentioned above and thought you'd want to see what it looks like. (I think it's the 3rd or 4th pic).
I also use them for decoration on my catering appetizer tables. I put full bunches of grapes and bananas on the top tier with vines cascading down, and whole pineapples and other fruits at the base. Really adds good visuals to a table! (see this page .... scroll down to the Hawaiian Appetizer Table http://www.flickr.com/photos/55969028@N00/page2/ )
I LUV using these for weddings. No doweling, easy set-up, versatility with cake sizes (when a 14/10/8 is too big, you can do a 10/10/8 and it still looks ok!)
