can you use butter instead of oil in the pillsbury yellow cake mix?

Hi and welcome to CC tina!

I don't see why you couldn't. I plan on trying this with dh's birthday cake next week. I plan to use Pillsbury white cake though. I tried this last week with a generic brand white cake that had no pudding in the mix and it tasted like a light pound cake-very yummy!

Let me know how it turns out!

I just looked in the cake mix doctor book and it calls for 1 stick melted butter.
