I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a template for a cross. I would like one with a little bit of design and not just a straight edge. It is for a first communion cake due this saturday. I just got the order today. Please PM me if you have a template you would be willing to share.

Thank You
Randi

main round is 10 to 14 inches, then smaller rounds at ends of sections of sheet cake cut and arranged.

I don't understand the instructions, but the cross is very pretty!

start w/ a 10 to 14 inch diameter cake for the central round area.

then bake 12 small about 4" to 6" cakes for the "bumps" at the end of each arm.

then bake two or so sheet cakes and cut them into long narrow sections the width desired for the main straight sections.

then arrange everything (carving where necessary to make it all fit -- as w/ the "bumps")

and decorate.

(the middle round has a suggested decorative motif -- the space are not carved, just drawn on)

Wow! Thank you for clarifying that. I am sure that would make a very stunning cake! I'll keep this one in mind for future reference. Very creative! =)

Wow Doug, that was much more than I asked for and expected. Thanks All I needed though was a template to make a gumpaste cross to use as a cake topper. I looked all over online and couldn't find anything that I like but yesterday when I was at AC Moore I was looking at the unfinished wood and saw the perfect cross. I got that, which was only $1 and hurried home, traced it out on gumpaste and now its drying.

If this cake turns out anything like what I have pictured in my mind it will be really pretty when Im done.

Thanks again for your help. Doug your mind is incredible!
