At the risk of sounding "uncool", I am asking for advice! I'm getting my hair done next week and have no idea what to do with it! 
I'm 31, a mother of two and a busy baker! My hair is about shoulder length, have been growing my bangs out for months. Can anyone tell me if long and straight, curly, wavy, or flipped out on the ends is the thing to do now?

I have looked over some hair magazines not long ago and it seems that people are pretty much doing whatever, really. Were you planning on cutting yours short? I have gotten my cut in an "updated shag" to get rid of some of the weight that was holding it down. Of course I am not happy with it now.
Bobs are big right now, and it also seems like they are tapering the bobs so that the front is longer than the back, if you understand what I mean. I would look through books and magazines to see what you want.
Well I'm not "cool", I'm a 33 year old mom of 7 kids with shoulder length hair and I wear a pony tail every day.
I am not cool either. I always just flip in up in a clip or if I feel like taking the time I curl it all with my curling iron. It looks stupid otherwise. I guess I am thinking about getting a body perm. My hair is pretty fine, I mean thin. It just sits there FLAT on my head, looks rediculous. cry.

Mine is also flat, thin, no life hair. I just tell my self, "I'm mom of a lot of kids, I can look this way if I want to", LOL. I did have mine permed a few times, it didn't help me.
I think instead of wanting to know whats "cool" you should do what you like & what will work for your like style. 
My hair is about longer than shoulder length & I have bangs. I wear the sides in a barette everyday.

I have very thin, very flat hair as well, about halfway down my back. And surprisingly, to make it look good, I straighten it. You would think my thin/flat hair would need the complete opposite, something to give it a boost, but the straightener actually really helps. Makes the hair look shiny and smooth.

Otherwise, have you seen that movie with Reese Witherspoon called "Just Like Heaven"? (I think that's what it's called) I love her hair in that movie, especially towards the end when it looks kinda wavey with the little barret on top. I'm thinking of getting my hair like that. I think that would be cute on you too!

A body perm would just give my hair a little wave, hopefully give it some lift to. I haven't seen that movie but now I've gotta see it! Maybe I can look it up on the internet??

I think you'll like Reese's hair in that movie. It sounds like that might be what you have in mind. I'll try to look it up and see if I can find a pic of her. It's only toward the end though that her hair is like that. But you really should see that movie, it's good, I really like Reese though! When are you going in for your hair?

Yes! That's it!!! Except I'll have bangs. Thanks for looking for the picture!!! I'll try to print it off and take it to the salon with me. My appointment is on Tuesday. Are you really going to get your hair done to? How fun! I'll post a pic, that is if the hairdresser does a half way decent job!

Oh good! I'm so glad you like it! I just watched that movie the other day with my sister and I said that I wanted my hair like that! Yeah, I'm getting my hair done too, I don't have an appointment yet, I'm hoping for next weekend. I'll definately let you know when I do it. And don't forget to let me know what happens!!
