O.K. I'm using wilton ready made gumpaste. I added the colors I wanted and let it sit tightly wraped over night. This morning I went to work with it and I kneaded it to soften and get ready to work with. It seemed to crack on the sides a little so I added a small amount of crisco. Then it lost it's elasticity. I tried to add a little more powdered sugar. That didn't work.So I added a little tylose powder to see if I could get some of the elasticity back but the didn't work either icon_cry.gif So I geuss what I need to know is did I kill it or can it be saved. icon_confused.gif

I usually use CK and mix it. Thank!

I found when mine started drying out on me after it had set for awhile that a little water brought it back for me. I tried the crisco and was getting the cracking (it was the new crisco, wasn't having a problem with the old stuff) Also, if you have any fresh paste left in the pouch knead alittle of that in with what seems to be dieing.

O.K. I added some more powered sugar and it got better. I started working on the baby shoes and the edges started to crack crisco didn't help. Then one of the cracks got to big and I had to stop. The shoe looked great except for that. Well I have to go to work. I'll have to work on it later. Thanks. icon_smile.gif

Oh Thanks Peg818 ! I used the old criso I found some at a warehouse store a few weeks ago. I will try the water though I havn't tried that.
I did mix some of no elasticity with the stuff that had elasticity but it still had some problems.I'm scared that if I use to much of the good that I have left That if I have to remix I won't have enough to make a new batch of color up. I live in a small town No gumpaste in site. icon_surprised.gif
Thanks again.

Definitely try a combination of white fat (i guess that's what you mean in the US by crisco) and a little cooled boiled water. If you do this and then knead it again you will find that it softens and gets more elasticity.

Good luck
