I want to know what you carry in your cake repair tool kit, those kits we carry with us when we deliver them to their expectant owners? I am setting up a kit and would be very interested to know those items you find to be indispensable when making deliveries.

Since I've just started packing mine for the weekend, I'll tell you what I keep in it:

1 prepared filled decorating bag of each color used on the cake in question
1 clean decorating tip for each design used on the cake in question
tip brush
2 coupler sets
2 decorating bags (I always use the disposable ones - is that heresy??)
several damp paper towels in a ziploc bag
small plastic container of water
icing spatula
roll of parchment paper or a smoothing cloth
pony-tail holder (if you have long hair like me)
toothpicks
tweezers
about a hundred tiny royal icing flowers in a sealed plastic container (I make in white with yellow centers - you just never know when they might come in handy)
travel first aid kit
calculator
pen and paper
business cards
camera

I would add scissors and rose nail.

I put my icing in small covered bowls and take parchment or empty disposable bags with me. That way I don't waste bags/time if I don't need them.

I think I'll add the Tylenol to mine!!!

If I think I'm going to need a repair kit, I take my whole tackle box and small bowls of each icing color.

I read somewhere on the WWW, that one lady carries some door stops. She says she can never find one when she wants it, and can never find someone to hold the door. Problem solved. Think that will go into mine now, LOL.

How about a level, so you can check to make sure the table is flat before you set the cake up on it. icon_smile.gif

I printed a list off of Earlen's site. Although I've not had enough business to use it yet. I like the doorstop idea. Have to write that one down.

I also wrote Germ-X and baby wipes on my list.

Here's the home page for her site:

http://www.earlenescakes.com/index1.htm

I couldn't find the list on there. Maybe I got it from another site. Regardless, her site is very informative. I'll try to find where I pulled my list from....

I apologize for not giving credit where credit was due. The cake decorator's emergency kit was on Sweet Dreams by Tracy, not Earlene.

So here is her list:
http://sdbytracy.com/kit.htm

And a list of some things to consider when delivering:

Like I said before, I have not used any of this for I am not that experienced. I'm sure anyone with experience can put in their nickel's worth about other things to consider.
