In a couple of weeks I am going to make a 3 tier wedding caked, iced in buttercream, with a cascade of gumpaste roses.

My question is: Should I try to make floral sprays or just stick each individual rose into the cake? I think it would be easier for me to do each individual rose but I am afraid of all of the little holes it will leave in the cake.

What do you guys think??

Thanks in advance.

When I did that class I made individual flowers. I attached them with toothpicks. Some of them I took off the toothpick and then attached them to the fondant with royal icing.

I agree, I think you could do a combination of ones with toothpicks and some with royal icing. Maybe ones that are cascading down you could use toothpicks. Good luck and I can't wait to see pictures!

if you wire some sprays of flowers together, then you only have to attach the base of the spray, and the rest can be formed to cascade down the front. making a few of these will give a very nice effect.

I find it easier to wire sprays together & then attach them to the cake. I have a cascade of red roses in my photo's. Looking forward to seeing your cake.
