I have a request for a jello poke cake w/decor and wanted to know if anyone has ever taken one out of the pan successfully to decorate? I haven't tried it yet, but am thinking it would be too runny when still hot and too cold once the jello sets? hmmmmm.... icon_confused.gif

I do know that I have successfully removed a jello poke cake from the pan; however, I can't for the life of me remember what or if I did anything special. I would attempt it until it was completely cold.

I made this recipe and it had you take the cake out of the pan before poking the holes. It was very good.

Wow, poke cakes must be making a comeback! I haven't made one in at least five years, but they are yummy. I baked the cake, let it cool completely, then poked it and poured the jello on while in the pan, put it in the refrigerator overnight and took it out and decorated the next day...I guess a good couple of hours would probably do it, too, but I have always chilled it overnight. Hope this helps!

I think as long as you parchment the whole pan it should come out. I just wouldn't make it too tall or layer it because I don't think it could stand extra weight, just my opinion.
