Does anyone know how to take decent "reception hall" photos!?!

I swear, they come out with the worst colors. Even after some editing, I can't capture the true colors of my cakes sometimes.

I think I need to take a class or something. It's those fluorescent lights! Any tips?

Tips given to me by a professional photographer:

- Try to avoid using flash .... natural light results in a better picture.
- Watch where you are standing. If the light source is behind you, you will cast a shadow on your subject.
- If there is a hard light on your subject, try to pull the curtain or get someone to stand there so they DO cast a shadow to soften the light.
- A white cake will reflect the light and therefore create it's own glare.
