On every recipe they have like 1-2 oz of red dye, but what kind? gel, powder or the watery kind??? Thanks for the help!

They mean the liquid in the bottles. Or at least that's what I use and it comes out great. HTH!

I am just going to make a bunch of small cakes and see which recipe I like the best, its a lengthy process, cause I am doing that which each cake flavor. When I'm all done (which seems like never) I will post my results. Thanks a ton!!!

yeah i've got time on my hands haha..I used the Duncan Hines red velvet, and I wanted to vomit, I hated it, so I am trying to stay away from all boxed mixes, unless its the butter cake (thats soo good)
