what do you put your cakes on straight from the oven. I normally do 9X13 that will fit on my cooling racks but I am making a 12X 15 and don't have anything that big. Can I put it on the board that I am using when I decorate? Help, my cake is in the oven!!!
Thanks

Will it fit on your stove top? I often use mine as a cooling area (I have a gas with raised grates - so it works well - but even an electric would allow some air circulation. You want to have some air flow under the pan or the cake bottom can get soggy.

I just put them on some pot holders on top of the stove and then in about 20 minutes then turn it out onto my board and let it finishe cooling.

My cooling racks are about 9X13, and I still sit my 12X18 pans on them to cool. I havent had any problems.

After it cools in the pan for about 20 minutes, I turn it out onto a cake board and place it back on the cooling rack to finish cooling.

Could you use an oven rack? Mine have a dip at the back for inserting them into the "slots" in the oven, but I would think you could rest it on something to level it out it somehow and that would work... Just a thought.

Happy baking!

Thanks, I always thought that you had to get it out of the pan or it would stick. I will just leave it in the pan for a while.
