Has anyone ever done a cake for a party at a Build-A-Bear Workshop? I'm looking for ideas that do NOT involve a bear shaped pan. Also, since they're having cake at the mall, I was thinking about a cupcake cake so that it would be easier to serve the kids.

Any ideas or picture would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Christina

Maybe you could make a cupcake cake in the shape of a bear? Or make little bear faces on cupcakes? Hmmm...I'll try to find a picture for you.

Does your Build-A-Bear have a room to have a party? Or will the kids be eating the cake somewhere else?

I think the kids will be eating their cake/cupcakes in the food court at the mall.

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&meta=search&type=full&search=build+a+bear

here's what came up when I ran a search on here...Traci did a cute one with the edible image & Boween did a present one with bears that is adorable.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. I know have a lot of great ideas when three hours ago, I was blank!

I guess we'll find out tomorrow how all these ideas transfer to the actual cake. Most of the time what I envision is no where near what the final cake looks like! icon_smile.gif

This may be more work than you're willing to put in, but what if you made itty bitty colorflow shirts, bows, etc in different colors, and then did cupcake in a jumbo muffin pan (or even a regular sized cupcake would work, I suppose) with a buttercream bear piped on top, and the kids could pick which colorflow pieces to use, and stick on top of their bear on the cupcake.

I don't know if that made any sense or not...

I am doing a birthday cake for a fake Build A Bear party - it's at our local Walmart and they have a similar set up to Build A Bear. I am making my own version of Wilton Jungle Party cupcakes on their 2006 Yearbook (I think it's 2006). I made different animal chocolate pops to stick in the cupcakes and will decorate the cupcakes with green leaves like the ones on the cover of the yearbook. I made a variety of different animals since Build A Bear has all different animals for the kids to choose from. I think I made teddy bears, lambs, chicks, bunnies, dogs, cats and maybe some others. I also made trees out of fondant to stick on the cupcakes because I couldn't fine any pretzel sticks that I thought would be the right size - they all seemed to skinny or too thick to put into cupcakes.
