I posted this on the cake ideas forum, but there are always more people on this one. Anyways, a friend called and her cousin is going away to Australia for some student thing and his family wants to throw him an early birthday/going away party with Australia as the theme. Any ideas?
I have a few ideas so sorry so long.
1) I see you are good at sculpting you could do a 3d kangaroo or 3d koala
2) A sheet cake in the shape of Australia. You could add a scene on top of it with kangaroos, koalas, eucalyptus trees, parrots, wombat, penquins, emu, echidna (I searched australian wildlife on google)
3) You could do an ocean scene with the great barrier reef and some surfers and colorful marinelife
4) 3d sculpture of the sydney opera house (which I think would look cool so I may try it myself)
Well, that's all I got. HTH. Can't wait to see pics!
What about some native flowers
Wattle, bottlebrush, gum leaves eucalyptus leaves etc (simple to do)
Thongs (flip flops)
Bush hat with corks hanging down (an oldie but a goodie)
Harbour Bridge, Opera House (for Sydney)
Food - Meat pies, beer (Fosters, Tooheys, XXXX)
Native animals scattered around as said before
Girls in bikinis at the beach (if it's for a guy)
Surfboards, shells, shark fin in the water at the beach (for fun)
Hope you can find something.
Thanks everyone for your great ideas. The customer has decided she wants a sheet cake (ugh!!! ) with some Australian items on it, so your ideas will help greatly. The only things she has said she definately wanted was the Australian flag and a koala bear. So the rest is all up to me, so I will surely be using some of these ideas. Thanks again everyone for your help!! ![]()
