SweetT cakes,
Your baby turned out so cute! By the way, my family and I are moving to your area. We have looked in Yorba Linda and Placentia. Any suggestions on where to look in the area?

Well, it depends on what your looking for. Yorba Linda, you can't go wrong with any part of it. Placentia is great, although if you have high schoolers I have heard Valencia high school is questionable (as well as that . So aim for an area that would put your kids in El dorado High. I hope that helps. thumbs_up.gif Thanks BTW

Theresa, Have someone take pictures step by step of what you do. When you have finished, place the pictures in order & write the details pertaining to each step. We would all be forever in your debt. Once again it is awesome & I am looking forward to the tutorial very much.

This is where you send all the pictures and the STEP BY STEP instructions. I know that the photos have to be a certain size too. I am not to sure what that size was. Good luck. I would love to see how they are made. They are lovely.

I´m thinking this is a very good project for cold porcelain, it is so detail that is worth keeping it for a long time, plus no one will chew the poor little baby.
Cold porcelain follows the same steps and tools as gum paste, but it lasts longer.

There you go Theresa, you can also ask Jackie or Heath about anything you don't know. They are so helpful.

I am so looking forward to that. Thanks in advance Theresa. Are you close enough to Valencia to join us for lunch on June 2nd. I am really hoping some of the CCers can make it there as I wont be here for the July get together. I will be back in Hawaii.

I wish I could go, Valencia is a little over an hour drive and I have 2 kiddos (6yrs and 10mos old). It would be a little difficult. CC really needs to have some sort of convention. (I read a little of the thread on that) Hopefully there will be a lunch get-together closer to me in the near future, I would like to meet some CCer's. It's so funny, I meet people that design cakes and I am to embarassed to ask if they are a member of CC. Isn't that silly. Any hoo, Once I get the tutorial up I will let everyone know.. I can't wait to get it started, I look forward to sharing. I just want everyone to know I am a novice and it may not be totally professional looking. But I will do my best.

WOW the baby is so beautiful. I too would love to learn how to make the babies. Okay got a question when you say half fondant and half gum paste. I'm clueless when it comes to that. I have never used gumpaste before.

I love all of the wonderful idea her on CC. I'm so addicted to this website.

Thanks!

I just took my gumpaste mix and made a little of it and mixed it with the same amount of fondant. Gumpaste is a sugar dough that hardens and gets very stiff. It is used in making decorative flowers and a slew of other things. Once it dries it is very fragile. I hope I am right in my description.

Oh one of the things that they say is to have more pictures than less. If that makes any sense to you. It didn't at first to me but than I understood what they meant. I Went back and added more pictures to some of the steps and then it made sense. Hope that helps. Take LOTS of pictures.
