Stacking A Cake

Can a 2 layer round 6" cake be placed on top of a single 10" round cake without dowels? Would appreciate any suggestions you all might have.

I would definitely support it. Especially if it will be sitting for a while, or if you intend to transport it.

Thanks Angie. I thought it would be best since I do have to transport this cake.

I agree, you should definately put in some sort of support, I learned that the hard way when i was just beginning!

Just a few straws should do the trick (and of course a cardboard under the top tier. Don't chance it.

anything more than 2 layers gets doweled.
