Has anyone tried royal icing with softened butter. I got the recipe off of sugarcrafts site. It's supposed to taste better, but I'm not sure how it dries. I made it tonight and I guess I will find out tommorrow if it hardens enough to be able to stack or wrap in celophane bags. If anyone has tried it can they let me know. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! icon_lol.gif

Well, It tastes better than royal but it didn't dry hard enough to stack. If anyone has a royal icing recipe that tastes good and dry's hard please let me know. Thanks. icon_sad.gif

Just add a non-oil based flavouring to your royal in place of some of the liquid. I've used fruit extracts, almond extract and fresh lemon juice with great success! Hope that helps.
