Help! I made the Nicholas Lodge Gumpaste recipe posted on this site and I must have done something terribly wrong. It is so rubbery and about impossible to roll out. I live in a very dry climate, should I have added less Tylose? Can this batch be saved? If I mixed it with fondant and shaped it tonight would it be dry enough by Tuesday??? Please help!

That's how mine turned out but when I showed it to him he said it was just fine, it just had to be worked a bit. He pulled off a small part and kneaded it with some Crisco and it became pliable. Go figure! icon_rolleyes.gif

I haven´t tried that gumpaste recipe but when I do mine it´s also rubbery. You should add a little fondant and it will be easier to roll. Yes, it will be dry for Tuesday.

He did the same with me. Go figure. And it did work with a little crisco worked in. But with another brand I add fondant to it, and worked it in.

Thanks everyone! Don't know what I would do without this site. Glad to know I'm not the only one with rubbery gumpaste!
