Where can I buy powdered food coloring? Does anyone use this for icing colors? A lady I know who has been decorating cakes for many many years told me to try powdered color for my reds and dark colors so I will not get a bitter taste. I've never seen powdered colors anywhere though...

WCgirl: depends on where you live, I guess. I have purchased powered icing color at a place in Beaver Creek, Ohio (just outside Dayton) called Cake Craft. That's the only place I've even seen it. I've never seen it around where I live in central NC. I really liked using the powered though. Good Luck!

http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product.asp?pn=IN0260-BLK also carries powdered colors

http://www.candylandcrafts.com/powderedfoodcoloring.htm has them as well.

Both locations take phone orders. I have ordered from each of these vendors over the years with satisfaction.
