So I was making a cake yesterday for my daughters fourth birthday. She was feeling under the weather, but I thought it would be something that would pass and I would have this great cake and an amazing birthday party for her today. It was going to be a three tiered little cute cake. Well half way through baking she came into the kitchen and threw up all over the ground. AWESOME! Surely this would pass.. right?!?!?!?! Well I had a heck of a time with the MMF I was using on the middle and top tier. I was going to lose it and was almost in tiers.

Last night, my DH and I attempt to go out, my mom is watching the kids and we get a phone call home because Eliana is throwing up like it's going out of style.

So the cakes WERE a disaster, but thankfully I didn't have to use them. The bottom tier turned out alright, so I just made some sugarpaste, practiced making my first bow and sent the cake to church this morning while I tended to my sicko baby girl.

Hi,

I think your cake is very pretty. Under the circumstances you did very well.

I do hope your little girl gets better very quickly. Give her a gentle hug from me.

Thanks ladies! She is still feeling the pits but apparently the ladies at church loved the cake so that's nice. This is my fourth cake I have ever made and slowly but surely I am getting the hang of things... I am officially addicted!

beautiful cake. Give your sweet girl a kiss on the forehead and tell her I am sorry she isn't feeling well. That just sucks!
