I see lots of photos of round cakes, some with a contoured or dome top. Are there pans that give you the dome shape or are they sculpted that way. Thanks

Wilton has a sports ball pan that you can use to make a dome.

I have the soccer ball pan and I've noticed a sports ball pan that's actually two halves. Which do you use?

These are regular round layers, however the "edges" are slightly rounded. I don't think I explained myself to well in my first post. Maybe once the cakes are cooled they are sculpted to get that effect?

Are you talking abou the beveled edges? Wilton used to have beveled edged pans, but they are discontinued according to wilton.com

FYI you don't have to buy a whole new set of pans... just bake as usual and trim the top edge off with a knife or scissors before you ice it icon_smile.gif
