I have a box strawberry cake mix and I also have some fresh strawberries in the frigde, do you think that it would taste right if I added some of the strawberries to the mix? I am making a small strawberry cake and wanted to enhance the mix a little.

I have never tried it, but I just looked in the cake mix doctor book and there is a recipe for strawberry cake that has fresh strawberries in it and it's made from a cake mix. She uses a white cake to start and also adds strawberry gelatin but I imagine it would work okay with strawberry mix.
If you need more information about the recipe, pm me.
I made a strawberrry cake mix this weekend and added a box of vailla pudding to it and one additional egg. When I iced it I sliced fresh strawberries in between the layers and it was awesome. You might try that as everyone just loved it. Hope this helps!
Having revently made a strawberry cake from a mix, I would suggest using the strawberries as fill, to really bring the strawberry taste out. The cake itself was incredibly sweet, more than strawberry tasting. Therefore, I would be afraid that if you put the strawberries into the mix they would just get lost. Good luck.
Use the strawberries as fill. Putting fruit in a mix requires a special cake recipe for this for the correct balance.
