I'm going back today, myself. I just needed meringue powder, which I got yesterday, and I really need some Gumpaste mix or Gum-tex...and wouldn't you know it, they were completely sold out of both yesterday!!
Our Michael's here has gotten quite strict. Some crazy lady got into it with the manager a few months back, and thus started the new rules. She attempted to use 30 (YES, THIRTY!) coupons at once. So, now we have to have a coupon. Just one. No more, "I forgot my coupon, do you have any extras?" either. And I hate that the only way to get a flyer is in the Sunday paper.
By the way...NICE JOB to the poster that got Walmart to take a Michael's coupon. I can't believe it. They hassle people over coupons all the time!!
I can't wait to just roam around there today. I may find a pan or 2 that I have to have! ![]()
Have a good day, ladies.
Happy Shopping.
Angie
Our Michaels makes us bring the coupon, but had been letting us use 1 coupon per person even if you bought the stuff together. Got a teenager last night and he *insisted* that we ring the stuff up separately.... fine...
So we stood there with 2 beserk, screaming kids while he rang up both items and their coupons separately.
I'm not thrilled with my Michaels.... horrendously long lines (hence the screaming toddlers) and everyone there tells you something different. The manager threw us out of the classroom during our last cake class, someone scheduled a last minute Bday part for their kid and they wanted to use the room for that because they make more money on parties then cake classes. We ended up squished into a tiny break room with hardly enough room to move, did not make cake-decorating any fun.
Cakesbykellie...I just got my KitchenAid this weekend and I am scared to use it--lol It is only a 4 1/2 quart with a 200watt motor...wasn't sure if that could handle icing. Last thing I want to do is blow up my mixer before I really even get to use it.
I personally prefer HobbyLobby to Micheals. Around here HobbyLobby is lower than Micheals. Also they always have those 40% off coupons. The people here at this Micheals are a bit rude...I bought my first course set and they offered to sign me up to the classes for free. I was all exicited until I realized there was no way I could get time off from work in order to go to the classes. Well I asked for the classroom book(that they give for free to the class) so I could try to learn on my own, but they wouldn't give it to me. One employee even told me what I should do would be to sign up and show up for the first class and then just take the book and never come back. I told her that was ridiculous and just went to HobbyLobby to buy the books and actually got them 1/2 off.
You can register online on the Michaels home page to get the coupons via email!!!. Someone may have said that you can't print them out by just going to their site. It may be because when you go to print the page out the first page you see is blank. Set your dialoge for your printer on page 2 or go to print preview and then look at the pages that way. Perhaps it might just be easier though to register online.
woo hooo!
jUST PRINTED 4 HOBBY LOBBY COUPONS! tHANKS SO MUCH GUYS!!
So I asked today at Micheals how come the ads are not in the paper anymore and she told me that if you know for sure there is a coupon - but could not get it they still have to honor it. So she gave me a 40% off one item - which I thought was pretty nice but I dont know if I will get away with that everytime - but I alway get an AC Moore coupon online so I will just start using that I guess..
I just visted the micheals website and you can not print out coupons any more . They also said that they do not send our their sale flyer by mail any more either. I know I should have gotten the sunday paper.
Alot of people are saying that Michael's doesn't mail their flyers out but I get a Michael's flyer every Monday. The only thing is that the coupon/flyer is for the following week. So if I would have gotten one yesterday then it would be good for next week.
Is it really true that I can use a Joann's coupon at Michael's? If so, I will be at Michael's more often. There's a local cake supply store about 5 miles from my house but if I can get the supplies for less then I will always go to Michael's instead. Especially since my local supply store is a private owned business and they can charge what they want.
i've been to michaels sunday, monday and today. i got fondant smoother, rolling pin, disposable icing bags, some kind of design marker, gumtex, gumpaste. i had 4 50% off and 4 40% off but i only use 2 at a time and not planning to go back tomorrow to use the other 2 40% off. i'm new and have most of the things i need and plan to use so i stand there looking for things to buy and i never leave the cake isle. i bought my course 3 kit with their last 40% off. i love when they have coupons. oh btw i tell them that i'm buying the other item for a friend/family member but we have to ring up separately. i dont sell cakes yet so even though i want to buy the stands and tiers and others i cant but michaels still gets alot of money from me being in there every week atleast 2 times.
Michaels will accept Hobby Lobby, Joanns and Michaels (of course!) coupons. They will not take them if you have printed them off of the computer though (at least ours won't) Our Michaels flyers come in the Sunday paper - but only EVERY OTHER sunday. (they were in this week's paper, so they won't be in next weeks)
