My pics are too large to upload to the forum. The cake mentioned below is in the "Sculpted 3-D Misc" gallery
I finished this cake at 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Went to bed and got up at
7 a.m. for work, took it with me for customer pick up. If I do this cake again I will construct it differently. It is dark chocolate Satin Ice fondant with royal icing piping. Hand painted with gold, brown & green luster dust. The faces, (all 4 sides are the same) are rice paper with edible ink. I traced the faces using a light box. A bit disapointed with the lean, I couldn't get rid of it.
Anyone who has made a tall (23" x 5" x 5") narrow cake, please tell me, how did you construct it?
OMG!! That is absolutely amazing!! Love it, Love it!! ![]()
Thank you all for your kind compliments.
Of course when it is your work you see all the flaws. I do know if I do another tower (that I don't have to transport) I will cover it as a whole with fondant instead of doing five 5" x 5" x 4" layers seprately. I used dark chocolate Satin Ice (discovered it in the forum) which is soooooo much better tasting than Wilton fomdant.
If you have to deliver a cake like this it would have to be done in three pieces.
