I have both brands, and I haven't really noticed a difference. The magic line pans seem to be heavier.

Magic Line square pans are far superior to Wilton's because the edges are straight, not sloped. If you're making a square cake, that's kind of important. I have Wilton round pans for my even-numbered sizes, but Wilton doesn't make the odd-numbered sizes, so I have all Magic Line for round odd sizes. They have a nice weight and cook very well.

Even & Odd sizes?

Are you talking about the height?

No, sorry, the diameter.

Wilton for 6", 8", 10", 12" and 14"

Magic Line for 5", 7", 9", 11", 13" and 15"

That's all I have, but they have bigger sizes.

The biggest difference is that some of the Wilton pans (the ones sold in the sets I believe) are sloped so that they can nestle in each other. Magic line are not.

I have found the sloping to make icing a little more difficult.

the wilton pans are cheap aluminum and they dent easily. the magicline pans are heavy aluminum and don't dent. The sides come out with sharp edges and aren't rounded like the wilton pans. The Magic line are expensive but well worth the money. I am about ready to sell my wilton pans replacing them with magicline.

My vote is for Magic Line - no more cakes that slope!

It would be nice if Magic Line has hearts, oval, hexagon and scallop sets. For these shapes, I still use my Wilton ones.

Thank you so much for all the very useful info. I've seen them around someother sites and was wondering. It's hard to tell those differences from a computer screen.

I am new to this business but I had a shower that I needed to pans a 10 and a 12 and not knowing what to buy I went to sugarcraft and purchesed them from them. I wanted a whole price was better but they were out so they sent me just the 10 and 12. I love them the cake came out very easy and they were very even on the top. I did not need to level or anything. I will not buy another Pan. You are right though I wish they made different shapes
