Just did a Princess and Frog Prince cake and would love some feedback. This is only the second cake I have done for someone I haven't met before and not a friend or family. The sides were bare as the inscription was put on after as I wasn't given the spelling of the name ahead. I was happy with the Princess and Frog Prince and the shape of the cake. The castle got rushed and could have been done better, and the pond needed to be bigger or the Frog Prince smaller I think. This was one of those last minute orders given the day before so things were a little rushed.

You can view it in my photos.

Awww, that's so cute!An amazing job with just 24 hours notice, I would've had a nervous breakdown asked to do that in such a short amount of time! Yes, OK, your froggy is a bit big, but he sure is cute! I think you did an excellent job overall - well done! It looks like a lot of cake, how many did it feed and what pans did you use?

I think your cake is adorable!! I'm sure they loved it. I agree with bonjovibabe, I would have been a basket case trying to do that on such short notice. I think your did a great job on everything. I especially like the frog. How did you make him?

Thanks for the input !!!!

The frog was a large cake ball made on a stick and dipped into milk chocolate then green candy melts and decorated, he was then dusted with pearl luster dust. I use character pans all the time for their shape and for this ones base I used the Wilton Smurf pan as I wanted an uneven rambling land scape shape, it was also the pan I used for my initial dolphin shape. I have yet to make a character cake from its pan but I use and buy them all the time for their shapes and uses in 3-D cakes.

Although I don't like too much notice as then I overplan and I do better in a crunch, 24 hrs. was definately not enough, 4 days to a week is best for me !
