I just finished two cakes for our town's Memorial Day Ceremony. An 8" round with a fbct of the POW/MIA flag and 12" round with red and white roses w/a yellow ribbon woven through with a quote from Robert Orr that reads, "To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is never to die." Can't help but get choked up at these two meager cakes and the great sacrifice they are suppose to hail. I lost a brother who was serving in the airforce. It's been almost 17 yrs. ago and it's still just so hard to believe he's gone. So, Robert Orr was right... With thoughts and prayers for others who have given their life for our freedoms. And especially for those who are doing so even as I sit in the comfort of my own livingroom. My heart goes out to everyone who has a loved one serving in our Armed Forces. My God bless them and you!
Karen,
I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. Today and every day, may we always remember those in our military, past and present.
Karen, thanks for reminding us of what Memorial Day is really all about. We have SO much to be grateful for in the U.S., and we owe it all to the soldiers and their families who make the sacrifices to keep us free and safe. God bless them all.

I couldn't have said it better. God Bless America!
