Can anyone tell me about something called modelling chocolate? Can I buy it, or is it something I have to make? I need to mold a family sculpture for a cake I am decorating, and fondant just isn't doing the trick! Any other ideas or suggestions will be greatly welcomed! Thanks for all your help!

I think you may be talking about chocolate paste or candy clay. Here is the recipe i use all the time

What is it about fondant that is not doing the job for you??
Have you tried gumpaste?? Or adding gumtex or tylose to your fondant?? That may help you if you're finding it too soft.
cheers

Are you talking about using choc. to put in the choc. molds? If so get the candy melts. If not, do as Boonenati says.

Thanks for your help! The term "candy clay" sounds like it is just what I need. I will check that link ASAP.

I am trying to mold people figures by hand for a cake. I like the texture of fondant, but I haven't been able to "meld" the pieces of fondant together seamlessly.

If anyone has tips on how to mold a person from one block of fondant(without adding the arms, legs, head as separate pieces), I would love to hear them!
