My Mom is having a special luncheon at her house on June 8th aand she has invited several of her cake friend ladies and myself..(Cause she wants me to meet a few who apparently keep asking when they are going to meet Sharon's daughter icon_redface.gif Anyway!) I want to make about 2 dozen cupcakes like the ones I posted a few weeks ago. What would be a nice flavor cake to make instead of plain chocolate or white?? Something that most people like, nothing exotic like papaya etc.I want it to appeal to everyone.Does anyone have the Cake mix Dr.??Can you recommend a recipe from the site using a cakemix?

My current favorite cake is this one, from this site:

It has a great texture, just like velvet. If I were doing your luncheon, I would probably make it, and add a tsp of almond flavoring, and then fill the cupcakes with raspberry filling. Raspberry and almond are kind of "grownup" tastes, but very popular.

MMMM sounds good. I would do lemon poppyseed or orange poppyseed, or maybe red velvet with cream cheese icing, or almond cake.

Yumm Now I want to go to lunch with friends. Especially since my kids will be home from school for the summer starting next week!

I'd do more than one flavor to give people a variety. DH french vanilla is very good, especially when filled with raspberry. Lemon is a good choice or even orange (DH makes these too!).

Is it time for breakfast yet??? icon_biggrin.gif
